Background I am a Graduate Student in Indiana University,Bloomington majoring in HCI and Computer Science. I obtained my Bachelor's degree in Information Technology from Anna University, India in May '05. Wanting to further my knowledge, I applied for the Computer Science graduate program in IU, that I started in Fall '05. Why HCI Somewhere along the line technical challenge faced in developing applications and finding algorithmic solutions to problems stopped appealing to me. It did take a bad client experience in my software engineering course that made me pause and reevaluate things. This also got me started thinking about the fact that users were involved very sparsely if at all in the whole development process, where the end product is supposed to cater to their needs. This also coincided with an incident where I met a friend who urged me to read Cooper's works. And hence my introduction to HCI.... |
